4 Things WDW Could’ve Given Tangled Besides a BATHROOM
Disney presents… the most magical… bathroom.
The Tangled Toilets in Magic Kingdom is one of my favorite sections of the park, especially at night. The hit movie was released in 2011 and Disney thought what better way to introduce the newest Disney princess than opening a themed restroom in 2013.
You’re telling me that after two years of the movie being out, the best they could do was some toilets? Don’t get me wrong, the contextual design in this area was done creatively and I appreciate the small details. For example, we have Maximus’ hoofprint in the walkways, hidden Pascals, the “floating lights” hanging, Flynn’s wanted poster, and Rapunzel’s tower all in one area. But if it were up to me, we’d have a few more additions. Like…
The Snuggly Duckling
This would be the BEST option because who wouldn’t want to stop in The Snuggly Duckling for a bite to eat and drink? However, Magic Kingdom is a dry park and I don’t see them adding a bar and alcoholic drinks any time soon. But to counter that argument, we have Gaston’s Tavern. Typically a tavern = alcohol. The Snuggly Duckling could be a quick service eatery and replicate a similar experience to Gaston’s Tavern OR dinner and a show similar to the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue. What can I say? “I’ve Got a Dream.”
Movie-Based Attraction
Picture this. A boat ride through the story of the lost princess where you get to see the floating lanterns and an animatronic Rapunzel with glowing hair. Fans have longed for this to go in Epcot’s Germany Pavilion (since that is where the story takes place), attached to or replacing the Biergarten, which was originally going to be a boat ride anyway. I want nothing more. They’ve already taken away Happily Ever After where we got to sing “I See the Light,” the least they could do is build an entire new attraction. Thanks!
Rapunzel and Flynn Ryder Meet & Greet
Okay, so you can meet them for breakfast at Trattoria al Forno at the Boardwalk Resort, but you can also meet Ariel and Prince Eric. How about an exclusive Meet-and-Greet spot to meet Rapunzel and the iconic Flynn Ryder? Add the perfect Corona backdrop (the town they’re from not the virus that ruined everything) and it’ll be perfect!
Gift Shop
There are plenty of Tangled merchandise items that could make up a gift shop in this area. Turn her tower into a shop and offer the Pascal shoulder plush magnet, Rapunzel gowns and accessories for kids, Tangled pins, merch, and toys.
