A Definitive Rating of the 10 Best Disney Dads and Daddies
Yes, there’s a difference.
Growing up is realizing that some of the Disney dads are just as hot as the princes and characters we loved as a child. And even if they aren’t a zaddy, per say, some of them are still dads we wished we had. So, here’s our official rating of the best dads and daddies from Disney and Pixar films.
Zeus

Zeus may be the mighty god of thunder, but he’s also got a soft side. When Hercules is kidnapped, he sends all his troops to look for him, but lets him go once he realizes a nice mortal couple has adopted him. Then, he equips his son with everything he can — including an adorable flying horse — to take down Hades and reunite them once again.
While Disney’s Zeus is no Thor in looks, he’s still a pretty good-looking animated character.
Zaddy: 7/10
Dad: 10/10
King Triton

You might say that King Triton is simply Zeus repurposed with a mermaid tail, but I’d beg to differ. Something about the biblical beard and stern-looking eyes makes him much less attractive — and a worse father, in my book. Sorry, but he could have stopped the entire Ursula stealing Ariel’s voice thing had he just talked to his daughter.
Zaddy: 6/10
Dad: 3/10
Mr. Incredible

While I’m not too sure what Elastigirl saw in Mr. Incredible in terms of looks (yes, even in his younger days), I’ll give it to her for his personality. Is he a bit of an absent father in the beginning of The Incredibles? Sure. But he makes up for it by the end — and I’m a sucker for a redemption arc.
Zaddy: 1/10
Dad: 7/10
Héctor

Ok, I’m not not saying the skeleton version of Héctor that we see for most of the movie is a cutie, but the very much alive Héctor could get it. That, coupled with the incredibly sweet song he sings for his daughter Coco, makes him the perfect mix of Zaddy and Daddy.
Zaddy: 8/10
Dad: 10/10
King Agnarr

King Agnarr is only in Frozen for a few minutes, but what a glorious few minutes it is. Not only is he conventionally a hot king, but also his kindness for Elsa once she discovers her powers makes him that much hotter. As we learn in Frozen 2, Elsa and Anna’s parents died trying to find answers about her magic, and if that’s not what a great dad would do, then I don’t know what is.
Zaddy: 10/10
Dad: 10/10
Mr. Andersen

Riley’s dad making this list is a no-brainer. Sure, does he look like one of the finance bros you met in a frat party basement? Yes. But is he conventionally attractive and a great dad? Also yes.
Zaddy: 10/10
Dad: 10/10
David

David is essentially the only father figure in Lilo’s life, so I will not be taking any questions as to why he’s on this list. Did I also want an excuse to Google pictures of him surfing? Maybe. But, it’s mainly because he loves Nani so much that he’s willing to take on her problem child sister and newfound “dog” with aliens chasing him as if they’re his family, too. And that’s what a true daddy would do.
Zaddy: 10/10
Dad: 10/10
Pacha

Oh, sweet, sweet Pacha. In no way does he qualify as a zaddy, but he’s certainly up for the Disney Dad of the Year award. He’s such a good guy and a true family man trying to save his kid’s home while also helping the man-turned-llama who’s trying to take it away from him. But, one look at his wife and you’ll realize that nice guys don’t always finish last.
Zaddy: 1/10
Dad: 10/10
Roger

This one’s for the dog dads who don’t always get the same recognition. Because even though they don’t have a human child, Roger and Anita’s love for Pongo and Perdita — and their subsequent puppies — is very obvious. Ok, so the movie isn’t actually about Roger, but when we do see him, it’s singing one of the best Disney villain anthems, standing up to Cruella herself, and vowing to adopt all 101 Dalmatians that were saved by his dogs. I’d call that a dad move.
Zaddy: 8/10
Dad: 7/10
Coach Bolton

The only honorary non-animated character to make this list is none other than the OG zaddy himself: Mr. Bolton. Looking back on High School Musical, I’m not sure if I had a bigger crush on Troy or his dad. But, let’s be honest, the “it’s not my dream dad, it’s yours,” trope is kind of a turn off. But, Coach Bolton does gain some good-dad points back by accepting Troy’s love for musical theater fairly easily.
