The Best Places To Get Stuck on Under the Sea - Journey of The Little Mermaid
Updated: Jul 8, 2023
We all have an opinion but there’s only one right answer.
If you don’t hear Sebastian tell you to stay in your clamshell at least one time, did you really even ride Under the Sea - Journey of The Little Mermaid? I don’t think so. You’d actually be lucky if you only heard it once since the omnimover has to come to a complete stop to accommodate individuals who are handicapped or slower than the mechanism.
Honestly, though, we’re not complaining because being stuck on The Little Mermaid ride is one of the better rides to be stuck on — second only to The Haunted Mansion. You get some pretty rocking music and some pretty hilarious animatronics while you’re waiting for your clamshell to start moving again. So, to commemorate the experience every Disney-goer has shared, we’ve ranked the top five best places to get stuck on Under the Sea - Journey of The Little Mermaid.
5. The Wedding Room
There’s really nothing even said in this room, you’d just have Ariel waving at you telling you to get the heck out of her kingdom for like five minutes straight. I want a little bit of action, please, even the opening Scuttle room would be a better one to get stuck in because at least you get some plot.
4. “Part of Your World” Room
Sure, the song is great, but it’s going to get old fast. Plus, ever since they fixed Ariel’s animatronic so that she doesn’t go cross-eyed, it’s not worth getting stuck in. Bring on the better tunes!
3. “Kiss The Girl” Room
Sebastian singing “Kiss The Girl” is what puts this room in the top three. It’s a nice low-key song that you can bop your head to while you wait. However, the Ariel and Eric animatronics being extra cringe almost kissing is what makes it number three. Yikes, it’s like watching your first kiss in middle school on repeat.
2. “Under The Sea” Room
“Under The Sea” is arguably the most iconic song in the movie and there’s just so much to look at in the room. Whether you have Ariel dancing, the lobster playing the shell drums, or the fish Conga line, you can’t help but smile in this room. I must say, I don’t love being stopped in this room for too long because the song gets a tad annoying, but no matter what my foot’s tapping the whole time.
1. The Ursula Room
I mean, must I say more? You can’t beat the queen. Her song, her dance, her waggly eyebrows. Come on, you can’t help but vibe in this room — sorry, Ariel, but I’m taking the sea witch’s side on this one.
