A dessert from Woody’s Lunchbox to your own!
Woody’s Lunch Box in Hollywood Studios has some of the most fun and delicious food options! Here’s how to make its Chocolate Hazelnut Tart.
Chocolate Hazelnut Tart
Yields 9 servings
Ingredients:
Dough
3 cups flour
1 tablespoon sugar
2 sticks cold salted butter, cubed
½ cup cold water
1 egg (for egg wash)
Filling
Nutella
Icing
1 cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon chocolate syrup
Garnish (optional)
Bacon pieces
Sprinkles
Instructions:
Add cubed butter, flour, and sugar to a food processor and pulse 15 times, until the butter is in small, pea-sized chunks.
Add the cold water to the food processor and mix until a rough dough forms.
Separate the dough into two even balls, then wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate until firm.
Preheat your oven to 375ºF and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Flour a clean work surface and rolling pin, then roll the dough out until it is about ¼ inch thick.
Cut into rectangles, about 2 inches wide and 4 inches tall. You can use a pizza slicer to make this easier.
Place a rectangle of dough on the baking sheet and spread Nutella in the middle of the dough.
Add another rectangle of dough on top and pinch the edges to seal.
After all the tarts are assembled, brush them with an egg wash.
Bake for 17 minutes.
Once tarts have completely cooled, spoon icing over them.
You can also add a garnish if you’d like, such as bacon or sprinkles
Icing Instructions:
While the tarts are baking, you can make the icing. Add lemon juice and 1 tablespoon of milk to the powdered sugar and whisk until combined. Then, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of milk and chocolate syrup. Whisk again until smooth.
Review:
These are pretty good! The pastry dough pairs well with the Nutella and icing, and adding the bacon pieces on top for garnish adds a nice savory component to the sweetness of the tart.
