Everything You Need To Know About The Country Bear Musical Jamboree Opening
Updated: Jun 27
It’s almost time to jam out with the bears once again.
This summer is a big one for Disney World. While all eyes are on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, which opened on June 28, there’s another major revamp happening just down the Frontierland path. The Country Bear Musical Jamboree, which has been entertaining guests for more than 50 years, finally has an opening date after months of renovations.
Here’s what we know about the new Magic Kingdom show.
When Is The Country Bear Musical Jamboree Opening?
The new show, now titled Country Bear Musical Jamboree, will open on July 17 in Magic Kingdom.
What's New About The Country Bear Musical Jamboree?
Besides the name, which used to simply be the Country Bear Jamboree, the musical show is getting a complete overhaul. Instead of the classic country songs that the animatronic bears used to sing, the new Country Bear Musical Jamboree song will feature classic Disney music.
The attraction is meant to feel like a live show at Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry, so Disney is reimagining classic songs like “Bare Necessities,” “A Whole New World,’ “Try Everything” to fit the bluegrass, country, rockabilly vibe of our favorite Country Bears.
So far, we know singers Emily Ann Roberts and Allison Russell are joining the soundtrack.
The Country Bears, themselves, are all staying the same — so you’ll still hear Wendell and Big Al crooning away — but they’re getting some major costume upgrades. Hey, you can’t play at the Grand Ole Opry without a little bit of flair.
What Else To Know About Country Bear Musical Jamboree?
The good thing about the reimagined attraction is that Walt Disney World isn’t changing too many things about it. The facelift and new soundtrack should draw in new guests, but not enough to warrant something like a Lightning Lane.
Because of its cult following, you might expect fuller shows on July 17 — and for the few days following — but we wouldn’t expect the crowds to exceed maximum capacity, even for those who want to beat the summer Florida heat.
