Drink Recipe: Oga's Cantina Dantooine Tonic
Updated: May 7, 2023
This luscious mezcal mule makes us feel right at home on lush, green Dantooine.
We recently found out that Oga’s Cantina in Disneyland offers more cocktails than Oga’s Cantina in Disney World. And considering that we are known to frequent Disney World more often, we take offense to that. So, we decided we’d make our own version of one of the Disneyland cocktails we can’t get in Orlando: the Dantooine Tonic.
Dantooine Tonic
Yields 1 cocktail
Ingredients:
2 ounces mezcal
1 ounce passion fruit syrup
½ ounce lime juice
Ginger beer
Lime wedge, to garnish
Instructions:
In a mule mug filled with ice, add mezcal, passion fruit syrup, and lime juice. Stir to combine. Top with ginger beer. Garnish with lime wedge, if desired.
Takeaways:
Disney, we would love this cocktail at the Disney World location immediately. It has such a unique flavor from the mezcal and passion fruit syrup that makes you want to keep sipping to figure out what it is. It’s a really great blend of fruity, smoky, and just a little bit acidic.
The best part about any mule is that you can control the sweetness by how much ginger beer you add. The passion fruit syrup is quite sweet, so I didn’t top my glass off all the way because I wanted that smokiness from the mezcal to still shine through. If you’re not a mezcal fan, though, don’t worry! I’m sure this cocktail would taste just as great with tequila — but maybe not vodka or else the passion fruit syrup might make it too sweet.
