Who Should The Disney Channel Characters Really Have Ended Up With?
Updated: Feb 14
Let’s play matchmaker!
If there’s one thing about old school Disney Channel shows, it’s that they knew how to have a strong female lead. Sure, every so often one of the main characters would go on a date or get a boyfriend, but that was never Kim Possible’s or Hannah Montana’s main goal. But, with Valentine’s Day approaching, it’s fun to think about which couples should have been end game anyway. Here are the Disney Channel couples we think should have ended up together after their show.
Hannah Montana: Miley & Jesse
What can we say? We’re a sucker for the bad boy. Even though she had a whole love triangle with Jake and Jesse, and originally chose Jake, Jesse was always the clear winner. “He Could Be The One” should have 100% been about Jesse—plus, the sexual tension between him and Miley? Come on!
While it seems like they ended up together at the end of Hannah Montana, Hannah Montana: The Movie really destroys that canon. But, we’re just going to pretend like they’re still going strong.
Lizzie McGuire: Lizzie & Gordo
The “he’s been the one all along” trope is obviously nothing new in Disney — see Ron Stoppable later — but it’s so perfect here. Lizzie and Gordo went through everything together, so it only makes sense that they should end up madly in love. Even when Lizzie isn’t her brightest (cough, cough Paolo), he still sticks by her. Since the Lizzie McGuire reboot is dead in the water, we can only assume that Lizzie and Gordo are still together after their trip to Rome, and we’re happy with that.
Phil of the Future: Phil & Keely
Seriously, there’s only one right answer here: these two are and always will be end game.
Kim Possible: Kim & Ron
Again, the friends-to-lovers trope is strong in Disney Channel, but if it ain’t broke. Kim is such a badass and, sure, Ron is her goofy sidekick through most of it, but he cares about her so deeply. Need we say more?
Wizards of Waverly Place: Alex & Mason
Maybe it’s that Gregg Sulkin was (and still is) so attractive or that werewolves were so in thanks to Twilight, but there was no way to resist Mason. We’re not sure they had the healthiest relationship, what with all the breaking up, but, hey, did any Disney Channel character? Plus, Mason was essentially the reason Justin was introduced to Juliet, and they certainly belong together.
The Suite Life of Zack & Cody: Zack & Maddie
We might be the only ones who think this, but Zack and Maddie were kinda cute. And, apparently, Maddie was only three years older than Zack. Maybe it was the height difference, but we thought for sure she was older than that. So, beside the fact that Zack is a tad (ok, a lot) immature for his age, it could have worked — especially in the Suite Life on Deck era.
The Suite Life of Zach & Cody: Cody & Those British Twins
This might be our hottest take of all, but Cody and Bailey were lowkey annoying. Even though we thought Zack and Maddie should have been end game doesn’t mean Cody can’t get one of the twins. Let’s be honest, they both fancy Cody so he really could have his choice between the two — but, that’s the problem with Cody, he’d be too nice to pick. So, we guess, por que no los dos?
That’s So Raven: Raven & Devon
We don’t know about you, but this relationship just seems so unmemorable. We guess that’s what happens when our girl Raven is such a strong, independent character — we all forget about her man. Though not super interesting, it was definitely better than Raven’s other option … sorry Eddie. But, obviously, the relationship wasn’t that great considering the pair were married then divorced in the spinoff Raven’s Home.
