Recipe: Disneyland Mint Julep

Try this cool mint refresher from the parks at home.

The Mint Julep is a fan-favorite drink served in multiple locations around New Orleans Square at the Disneyland Resort. The Disneyland Mint Julep is a non-alcoholic drink, but you can easily add a shot of bourbon to this at-home recipe if you’d like to!

Disneyland Mint Julep

Yields 2 cocktails

Ingredients:

Instructions:

  1. Combine sugar and water in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir until sugar is dissolved.

  2. Stir in lime and lemonade concentrate.

  3. Add creme de menthe syrup and mix well.

  4. Continue stirring and bring to just below the boiling point (210ºF). Do not boil.

  5. Remove from heat and chill.

  6. To a cocktail shaker, add 6 ounces of the syrup, 10 ounces of water, and some ice.

  7. Shake to combine and chill, then divide into four glasses. Enjoy!

Review:

This is a delicious drink! It is sweet with a hint of mint and has a lovely green color. I also tried it with ½ ounce of bourbon added to it and it was great! It does make it less sweet and changes the color, but it enhances the other flavors of the drink. Overall this is a very refreshing drink and is great for spring and summer! This recipe will make just enough syrup for two drinks, so make sure to multiply the syrup recipe if you want more!
