Drink Recipe: The Happy Snowman
Updated: Sep 18, 2022
A wintry punch perfect with or without alcohol.
While we typically post alcoholic drink reviews, we thought we would try something different in the spirit of Dry January. So whether you’re looking for a mocktail or a fun drink for a Frozen-themed party, we’ve got you covered with what we’re calling: The Happy Snowman.
The Happy Snowman
Recipe inspired by DIY Thrill
Yields: About 26 servings of 6-ounce drinks
Ingredients:
Sprite
Blue Hawaiian Punch
Pineapple Juice
Optional: Edible Glitter
Optional: Snowflake Cupcake toothpicks
Instructions:
To make this recipe, you’ll need equal parts Sprite, Hawaiian Punch, and pineapple juice. We’d also recommend chilling them!
For a single serving, add 2 ounces of pineapple juice to the drink shaker. Then, add 2 ounces of Hawaiian Punch to the drink shaker and shake well.
Pour into a martini glass (with or without the stem).
Add 2 ounces of Sprite to top it off.
Sprinkle in some edible glitter.
Stir in the glitter with your snowflake cupcake toothpick.
Takeaway:
We were worried about how sweet this drink would be, so we made this drink in six different ways. We played around with the proportions of Sprite, Hawaiian Punch, and pineapple juice. My favorite was the version with equal parts of each drink, while my sister preferred less pineapple juice. That version was 2 ounces of Sprite, 3 ounces of Hawaiian Punch, and 1 ounce of pineapple juice. It also had more of the bright blue color we wanted as opposed to light green that the equal parts drink had. We even tried adding sparkling water instead of Sprite to see if we would like it less sweet, but it just tasted watered down.
All and all, this was a refreshing drink that made us feel like a snowman… in summmerrrrrrr. It’s perfect for watching Olaf shorts on Disney+ or to use as a base for a jungle juice for those not participating in Dry January.
