Recipe: The Florida Split
A boozy creamsicle float.
Flavors of Florida is all about citrus. And the Florida Split, available at Raglan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant is the epitome of creamy, citrus-y goodness. So we tried recreating this recipe for a little bit of the Sunshine State at home.
The Florida Split
Yields 2 cocktails
Ingredients:
½ cup mango juice
½ cup orange juice
1 scoop vanilla ice cream
1 ounce vodka
1 ounce mango liqueur
Instructions:
In a cup, combine mango and orange juice. Stir the vodka and mango liqueur into the juice mixture.
In a serving glass, add a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Pour juice and liquor mixture around the ice cream.
Enjoy!
Takeaway:
I was admittedly nervous about the juice and ice cream combination, but it surprisingly works. The mango juice thickens the liquid to make it more the same texture as the melting ice cream, and the mango liqueur (or mango vodka as I used) takes the sting out of the alcohol. I will say, it is even more divine without the ice cream for lactose-intolerant friends like myself.
