How to Use Grocery Delivery at Disney World
Updated: Jan 9, 2023
Find out how to get groceries delivered directly to your Disney resort with this easy guide.
Eating at Walt Disney World is one of the best experiences — we love it so much, we even recreate Disney recipes at home. But a trip to Disney World is already pretty expensive, and eating three meals a day in the parks or resorts can rack up a big bill. While some people may choose to pack a few snacks in their suitcase to keep in their park bag, other people like to have full meal options at the ready. If you like a particular coffee or snack — or maybe want to pack sandwiches or water bottles for the park — you’re probably better off getting real groceries at Disney (especially if you’re staying for more than a couple days).
Now, you could Uber to a local grocery store and pick up a few essentials for yourself, but why break the magic of a Disney vacation to do such a mundane task? Instead, you can have your groceries delivered directly to you. Luckily for you, there are a few options for using grocery delivery at Disney World. So whether you want to save some money or just need some staples for your vacation, these are your easy options for grocery delivery at Disney.
How to Use Grocery Delivery at Disney World
Instacart
Instacart’s delivery service is very easy to use. Simply select the store you want to order from — in Orlando, you can choose from retailers like Publix, Aldi, Sprouts Farmers Market, Save a Lot, Target, The Fresh Market, Walgreens, CVS, Total Wine, and ABC Fine Wine & Spirits. Then add grocery, or non-grocery, items to your order and wait for a shopper to pick it up.
All Instacart orders must be at least $10 to be eligible for delivery. Additionally, there is a $3.99 delivery fee for orders that are more than $35 — if your order is less than $35, the fees may increase and will vary. There will also be a service fee attached to your order, which can vary depending on what you order, and you will need to tip your shopper.
When ordering with Instacart, make sure you know your resort's address and stay near your phone in case your shopper messages you regarding substitutions, directions, or other updates.
Amazon Prime Now
If you have an Amazon Prime membership, you’re automatically eligible for free Amazon Prime Now. Amazon Prime Now provides grocery delivery from your choice of either Whole Foods Market or Amazon Fresh. Choose wisely because there is a difference between these two stores.
Ordering from Whole Foods will cost you a $9.95 delivery fee, plus a tip, while ordering from Amazon Fresh is free if your order is more than $35. Additionally, Amazon Fresh typically has more groceries in stock compared to Whole Foods.
To order from Amazon Prime Now, simply choose which store you want to order from and add items to your cart. Choose your delivery time frame window (be aware that anything quicker than a two-hour window will have an additional fee), and don’t forget to add a tip. Now, wait for your Amazon shopper to arrive.
Walmart
Walmart offers same-day grocery delivery for all customers. If you are a Walmart+ member, you will receive free same-day grocery delivery on orders of $35 or more. Otherwise, you will have to pay a delivery fee of $7.95 or $9.95. Tips for delivery drivers are not included, so make sure to factor that in too.
To order from Walmart, add your items to your cart and enter your resort address. Choose a delivery day and time frame (they’re one hour time frames) — same-day delivery is usually available. You will receive communication from Walmart about substitutions or out-of-stock items as well as the time you can expect your delivery driver to arrive.
Garden Grocer
Garden Grocer has been delivering groceries around Central Florida, and more specifically to Disney World resorts, for over15 years. They have a selection of more than 5,000 products — including grocery staples, like breads, breakfast foods, and snacks, plus baby products, beer and wine, and pet supplies.
You can even have Garden Grocer deliver to your resort before you arrive because they deliver directly to the Bell Services area where you can pick up the groceries. Garden Grocer delivers to all Disney-owned resorts, as well as several off-site resorts.
Garden Grocer asks you to place orders at least two days in advance, and they even offer discounts the further in advance you order. There is a $40 order minimum and all orders below $200 will be charged a $15 delivery fee.
To order from Garden Grocer, you will need to make a free account, then browse the aisles and add items to your cart. Select your resort and time frame, which are 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., or 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., then your order will be delivered to the resort.
It’s important to note that if you are staying at the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek, Club Wyndham Bonnet Creek, or Wyndam Grand Orlando Resort Bonnet Creek, you will need to meet your driver between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Grocery Deliveries to Disney Resorts
Getting groceries delivered to your Disney resort is quite easy, and not an uncommon practice. The easiest way to ensure your grocery delivery goes smoothly is to meet your delivery driver in the lobby and accept the groceries directly.
But if you can’t be there for a delivery, that’s okay, most of the time the groceries will be delivered to the Bell Services area and held for you — typically Bell Services will even keep your items refrigerated. However, you should call your resort before you schedule a delivery if you will need groceries held just to be sure they can do that for you.
If you want a Cast Member to bring your groceries directly to your room, you will be charged $6.00.
Grocery delivery is a convenient way to stock up on items that you don't want to pay the Disney prices for, like water and snacks, and it’s also really helpful for when you open your bag and realize you forgot an essential, like deodorant *gasp.*
