Recipe: Yule Mule

Updated: Dec 11, 2022

The perfect seasonal twist on a Moscow mule.

Whether you need a drink for a Hallmark movie drinking game or something to spice up your Secret Santa reveal party, yule love this holiday mule!

The Yule Mule is available at Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar during the holidays and includes rosemary simple syrup — but we skipped that ingredient and kept it extra easy with just four ingredients.

NOTE: If you want to add the simple syrup to keep it authentic, just bring water, sugar, and fresh rosemary to a simmer then allow to steep for 30 minutes to infuse the flavors.

Yields 1 cocktail

Ingredients:

  • ⅔ cup cranberry juice

  • 1 shot of vodka

  • ½ cup ginger beer

  • 1 lime, juiced

  • Fresh rosemary, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Add vodka, cranberry juice, and lime juice to a cocktail shaker. Shake to combine.

  2. Pour into a chilled copper mule cup.

  3. Top off with the ginger beer and lightly stir.

  4. Finish with a rosemary garnish and enjoy!

Takeaway:

I have absolutely been LOVING mules at the moment, and this is like the best Christmas present ever. The cranberry compliments the ginger beer which is slightly spicy, and if I didn’t know what I was drinking, I would probably say this tastes like a holiday mule.

While the recipe calls for the juice of a whole lime, I think half of the lime is sufficient. It sort of overpowers the drink if there’s more.

So if you like mules, this will be absolute perfection. If mules aren’t your thing, the Frostbite Martini might be more your vibe.
